“That which is hateful to you, do not do to your fellow. That is the whole Torah; the rest is the explanation; go and learn.” Hillel the Elder, asked to summarize the entire Torah
Go & Learn: BDS Education in Jewish communities is an initiative by the youth-led wing of Jewish Voice for Peace to create a space for education about the Palestinian call for Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions.
Update: The NYC Go and Learn event was abruptly canceled at the last moment by our hosts, the 14th St Y. Sign the petition to the 14th St Y telling them to let us Go & Learn.

More about Go and Learn:
A growing number of Jewish institutions are creating guidelines, like the ones adopted by Hillel, that silence young Jewish voices and shut down open conversation and education. The much needed space to talk about and seek to understand the BDS movement–no matter your political position– simply does not exist. Go & Learn is carving out this much needed space in Jewish communities and you are invited to be a part of it in March/April 2012!
Go & Learn BDS Education events are a way for Jews to continue to (or begin to) develop their own opinion on BDS, in an informed, multifaceted way. We invite you to join us whether you have never heard of the BDS movement, know a little about it, are actively opposed to it, or you are already supporting the Palestinian call for BDS.
All Go & Learn events will be free and open to the public. We invite all who are interested in an evening of learning to attend and to engage in thinking, discussing, and reflecting on the Palestinian call for Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions through Jewish text study, self-reflection, history, and dialogue. Attending a two-hour educational event does not mean you are supporting the BDS movement–it means you are open to learning about it, talking about, and figuring out for yourself whether you want to take action to support it or not.
